For most students, the idea of dancing in front of their peers can seem a little nerve wracking; however, Niam Schade is not phased by the idea of performing in front of his friends for Mr. Fullerton.

“I have been [performing] my whole life. I was in theater when I was a kid and I have always been into making films,” Schade said.

For Schade, an interest in the performing arts began at a young age. “I started getting into film because I didn’t speak English until 7th grade. I spoke Flemish and Dutch. I was born in Virginia and then I moved to Belgium. Then I came here and learned English through movies and film,” Schade explained.

Additionally, Schade has played water polo and swim for FUHS all throughout high school. During his sophomore year, he joined the Varsity Boy’s Water Polo team. In the fall, Schade plans to play water polo for the University of Arizona. Schade prefers water polo over swim because, “in water polo there’s not constant stroke work. There’s more diversity and a strategy.”

Schade considers himself to be his biggest competition and predicts that Arthur Bravo will win the Mr. Fullerton title. “He’s just a cute little spud guy,” Schade said.
