Equality, innovation and entrepreneurship–these are words that the United Nations have heard and decided to make possible. A forum will be live streamed on Facebook at 11 a.m. tomorrow to encourage women and girls to take action.

This will be the first “UN Women Global Innovation, Technology and Entrepreneurship Industry Forum” ever held; for the occasion, the UN committee for gender equality, women’s empowerment and the SAPan enterprise application software company have partnered to spark enterprise amongst women.

The forum is meant to focus on inspiring women and promoting equality in business.

“The achievement of this ambitious agenda will require transformative shifts, integrated approaches and new solutions,” the UN Women’s website said. “Partnerships are key to accelerate the process and to remove the barriers to the advancement of women and girls.”

A conference of women from the UN (Amina Mohammed, Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka), Amy Poehler’s “Smart Girls” (Meredith Walker), business (Kelli Wells, Alicia Tillman) and entrepreneurs (Sarah Michelle Gellar, Rachel Roy), the forum will be a collaboration to advance and inspire women and girls through action.

“As the United Nations entity dedicated to gender equality and women’s empowerment, UN Women is committed to leveraging innovation and technology to disrupt existing trends and ensure that no woman or girl is left behind,” the website said.

“This Unit focuses on building market awareness, investment and industry-wide action for innovations that advance women; working with industry partners to take a gender-responsive approach to the innovation cycle; promoting women as innovators; and directly developing innovative technology solutions that meet the needs of women and girls.”

All about championing and advancing women, the forum is a feminist promotion of innovation.
