The Farm Fall Festival on Oct. 28 has officially kicked off the fall festivities for FUHS.

The seasonal festival included a cake walk, chili cook off, and games like cornhole and a duck pond game where people used fishing rods to retrieve rubber ducks. Attendees could also visit the petting zoo featuring the farm animals the students care for.

People could enjoy their snowcones, tri tip sandwiches and popcorn while listening to live music by Jasmine Field Band who came to perform.

“It’s a community event,” said Mariana Chavez, a member of the agricultural program. “This event is to bring people, students, and families together.”

However, the festival wasn’t only about spirit. To sophomore Amy Whittaker, it’s about supporting the Agriculture program.

“It’s a fundraiser,” Whittaker said. “So it gets people in and they get to see what we do. Younger students that are coming into highschool that want to go here, they get to see what we do and they get to have fun and learn all about it.”

The FUHS Floral Department also sold student-made floral arrangements, while the agriculture department sold pumpkins.

“It’s a seasonal event and the profit that we make from it, we’re going to be using it to replace some old materials in our farm,” Chavez said. “We’re planning on getting a new water station. So hopefully with the profit we’ll be able to revamp our farm.”

Overall, the festival was a success for the program.

“It did go according to plan and it did meet up to the standards that I had for it,” Chavez said. “The activities went well. A lot of people attended, more than what I had expected came to it, so that was pretty good.”

Clearly, the Fullerton community’s continued support of the agriculture program has greatly benefitted the school in past years and continues to be appreciated by students and staff alike.
