Boy’s Basketball (0-3) started their league season Jan. 9. The Indians suffered three straight losses to start off league: a score of 82-73 in overtime to Sonora (1-2), a close 45-43 loss to Sunny Hills (2-1), and, most recently, a 60-51 loss against Buena Park (2-1).

When asked about the key to bouncing back from the three losses, junior Zach “Bubba” Perez wants to concentrate on the smaller aspect of the game.

“We’ve got to focus on all of the little things; we have to watch film more and just give the extra effort,” said Perez. “We’ve been in games but just haven’t executed and come out on top.”

Junior Will Hollon believes that, despite the three losses, the team is better than what their record shows.

“Compared to how we’ve played the last couple of seasons, we’re a lot better than people think,” says Hollon. “Obviously our record doesn’t show that, but if you look at how we’ve played in past seasons, we’re definitely moving in the right direction.”

Come watch the boys as they battle rival Troy High School (2-1) in the Troy gym tomorrow at 7:30 p.m.
