Alex Gotch
Unlike the other Mr. Fullerton nominees who were selected because students nominated them by name, Alex Gotch has a different story. As is turns out, Gotch received his nomination because many students wrote down “Sweeney Todd” on their ballots. This was in reference to the character Gotch played in last year’s Spring musical, “Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.”
“People would come up to me and say, ‘Oh I voted for you for Mr. Fullerton,’ but it wasn’t like they put my name in. They would say, ‘Oh I voted for you, I wrote in Sweeney Todd’,” Gotch said.
Over the years, Gotch has played a number of roles in FUHS plays and musicals, participating in, “Annie, Get Your Gun,” “The Women of Lockerbie,” “Kiss Me Kate,” and of course, “Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.”
“I really enjoy just being on stage,” Gotch continued, “I really like talking to people, even if it’s just acting in front of people, I like doing that.”
In addition to acting, Gotch has a Youtube channel with over 1,700 subscribers. “I’m really interested in film. I like to record videos and stuff like that,” he said.
“I’m excited to see how the audience reacts to all of the different performances,” Gotch said.
