After watching past Mr. Fullertons, Josiah Haugen had always wanted to be involved. “I’m not necessarily one of the people that hangs out on senior corner or is kind of ‘the dude’ but, I always wanted to do [Mr. Fullerton] and it always looked like fun,” Haugen said.

Haugen has struggled with time commitment Mr. Fullerton requires due to his involvement with other activities. Most recently, Haugen played the lead in this year’s Spring musical “Kiss Me Kate” and went to Sacramento to advocate for the arts in education as a Student Thespian Officer .

“There’s a lot of dances and formations that we have to learn [for Mr. Fullerton]. We have to prepare our own talents and everything and come up with our own costumes so a lot of it is very dependent on the individuals who are taking part in it,” Haugen said.

Haugen has received several awards for his abilities in both theater and choir. Last year, he was named one of the top three vocalists in Orange County and named Best Actor by three different critic companies.

“Theater is the biggest part of my life. I’m heavily involved in that and have been doing it for four and a half years. I’m planning on pursuing it for a living,” Haugen said.

In his free time, Haugen enjoys playing piano. “That’s my number one calm down after I come home from school. I’ll just wind down and play the piano from 45 minutes to an hour,” he said.

Haugen would like to say thank you his peers that nominated him and predicts that Arthur Bravo will win the title of Mr. Fullerton. “He’s so funny. If he goes all out he could probably win it,” Haugen said.
