Taylor Lucio

Mr. Fullerton nominee, Taylor Lucio decided to add something unexpected to the Mr. Fullerton rally during break on Mar. 10. At the end of a short dance performed by all the boys in the quad, Lucio asked his girlfriend, senior Michaela MacDonald, to prom. She said yes.

“I didn’t want to tell anyone because she usually finds out about everything and I wanted it to be a surprise. It went pretty well. I was nervous but I’m glad everything worked out,” Lucio said.

This year, Lucio was the Co-Captain of the Varsity wrestling team for the second year in a row. “It’s good and bad because you feel like you always have to perform higher and work harder. Theres other people that would like to be where you are, but they aren’t. So, you have to prove that you earned what you get,” Lucio explained.

After being a wrestler for four years, dancing isn’t really considered Lucio’s forte. “I have no rhythm at all so it’s a little harder for me,” Lucio continued, “Some of the dances are really fast and hard. I try my best.” Despite the difficulty of the dance routines, Lucio still finds them fun and, “a little goofy.”

Lucio considers himself his biggest competition for the Mr. Fullerton title. “I have to get my head in the game and work,” he said.

Other than himself, Lucio also considers Josiah Haugen a competitor because, “he’s a very talented man,” as well as Arthur Bravo and Kody Orozco because, “they have this energy around them so when you’re around them you feel happier and get in a brighter mood.”
