Sarah Denis

Following in the footsteps of her mother, her mother’s love for dance, and her Hispanic roots, Sarah Denis has excelled in dance at FUHS despite starting as a transfer student.

Denis has faced many challenges, including the intensity and long hours of the dance program. Ultimately, however, she is endlessly grateful as it pushed her to be a better person and student.

Currently, Denis trains at a dance studio in Los Angeles for hours upon hours a day, sacrificing her much needed sleep, in hopes of  becoming a professional dancer in the future.

“I do not get enough sleep. I practice a lot,” said Denis.

While her hours are long and difficult, finding dance wasn’t hard for Denis.

“When I was little I was very well-rounded. I tried lots of different sports, but I always went back to dance somehow,” said Denis.

Denis plans to major in dance at Cal State Fullerton, after attending Fullerton College for two years. After college, Denis would like to have a career in dance. However, because finding a career in dance is incredibly difficult, Denis hopes to work at CHOC hospital helping sick children as a fallback career.
