For yearbook editor Justine Cedeno, the biggest struggle in high school has been balancing AP/IB classes on top of being a devoted member of the yearbook team.

Cedeno’s first year in yearbook was a great experience for her.

“The first year was really fun. I really enjoyed Mr. Indelicato and the people I was working with,” she said.

As the class progressed, it became more stressful for Cedeno, but after seeing the book completed, all the hard work seemed worth it.

“I did not realize what a stressful class yearbook could be. When I first joined I assumed it was a ‘have fun with it’ type of elective, and of course I had fun in the class but there is also deadlines that you have to be on top of. It is also really important to make sure that the work you are turning in is something you can be proud of,” Cedeno said. “When I saw the book I completely fell in love with it, it was like my child, I made it and it was so exciting for me.”

Junior year, Cedeno was made copy editor, a job which presented her with many new responsibilities and duties.

“I had so many more responsibilities but that only made me love the book even more,” she said.

Cedeno loves being a part of the school’s history.

“I really love that I get to take the year and put it into a book that everyone is able to cherish for years and years to come. I want people to be able to look back on it and say ‘hey! I remember that happening!’” she said.

Cedeno’s goal as yearbook editor has been to make this year’s book a fun experience to look at.

“While it is impossible to please everyone, I strive to make something that people can look back on and enjoy and something that is fun to look at,” she said.
