Softball team goes undefeated in the Freeway League

The FUHS softball team defeated Sonora 11-0 on April 3. Sophomore Malaya Majam-Finch said the Tribe lost last year against Sonora; however, this year, Sonora did not get on the board.

“This was a really big change of pace. We weren’t able to score like that many runs off them last year,” Majam-Finch said. “Mercying them in the first game was a big deal.”

The Tribe had a similar performance against Troy on April 12, winning 15-0. The Tribe is undefeated with a record of 7-0 in the Freeway League.

Majam-Finch says the team looks to winning league and even winning CIF.

“Winning CIF is the goal because we made it last year, but we lost in the final. We have a better team now. We got a bunch of transfers and they’re all really good,” Majam-Finch said.
