Dancers take center stage
Class of 2022 Dance Spotlight
Cherish Angus
Angus enjoys the balance that Advanced Dance provides. “I’ve been in advanced all four years of high school. I love it. I’m not constantly under pressure. I’ve enjoyed being here as a teammate and as an officer,” Angus said.
Sofia Ayala
Senior Sofia Ayala has been a part of Dance Production for two years. One of Sofia’s best friends, senior Gabby Ilioi explained Sofia has always been super artistic. “I know she always been super in love with the arts,” Ilioi said. Always, like for as long as I can remember, or like, even like her doodles are the most intense things I've ever seen.”
Alana Plick
During the Fall Dance Concert, Alana performed in “Office Chaos”, choreographed by Jordan Fares. Alana struggled during her high school years in advanced dance and dance production as she was put in the same classes as dancers who have danced since they were little. “I started when I was 12, so I felt kind of out of place, but because I trained really hard and because I worked to try and get through I was able to almost catch up and still reach the level of like dance experience that I wanted to reach and dance with everyone else,” Plick said. However, she aimed high and worked hard to claim a place in Dance Production, the highest level of dance offered at FUHS.
