When you are in high school, there is no better time to explore your interests. Senior Niall Dunagan has done just this.
When Dunagan was little, he involved himself in as many sports as he could from baseball and football to basketball.

In high school, his family’s military background motivated him to join JROTC.
“One of my family members was a Marine in the Vietnam War and the other an airplane mechanic stationed in Germany during Vietnam,” Dunagan said.
Dunagan keeps in touch with friends who currently serve in the military, including one stationed at Camp Pendleton.
His involvement in the Kaiser All Service Drill Meet was a thrilling experience that left him eager to continue the JROTC program. He also credits it with making him more mature and focused.
“I had a great time,” Dunagan said. “We won trophies, and it was a very good experience.”
Aside from JROTC, he enjoys hobbies like surfing and tap dancing. At one point, he even tried musical theatre.
In the fall, Dunagan will attend Fullerton College. He hopes to eventually transfer to California State University, Fullerton and join their ROTC program.
