On Jan. 17, the FUHS ASB revealed the 2020 prom theme, “A Casino Royale Prom,” inspired by the James Bond franchise. The dance will take place on May 9 from 8-11 p.m. at the Santa Anita Race Track.

Unlike in previous years, ASB announced prom information earlier than usual. Junior class and executive board vice president Malia Preciado says this choice was made to promote inclusivity among students at Fullerton.

“A lot of kids at our school have to choose if they want to go to prom or not because it’s a very expensive dance,” Preciado said. “We wanted to give them a chance to save their money up.”

As we entered a new decade, many students were surprised that this year’s prom wasn’t Roaring 20s themed. Preciado says ASB didn’t choose this theme to avoid being lumped into the thousands of high schools that might choose the same concept.

Currently, ASB is planning out decorations, centerpieces, and food. There will be the usual refreshments, snacks and photo booths, as well as fun surprise activities ASB has up their sleeve.

We are doing different activities that we haven’t done before,” Preciado said. “It will be fun for kids to have activities that go with the theme.”

Tickets will be sold from Mar. 16-20 for $80 with IFL and $90 without. From Mar. 30 27-April 3 tickets will cost $90 with IFL and $100 without. From April 6-8, tickets will cost $120 for everyone.
