The “Going Down the Bayou” prom will be hosted April 27 at the Huntington Club in Huntington Beach. The event is scheduled for 7–10 p.m. Students must arrive by 8 p.m. Once students arrive, they are not permitted to leave until 9:30 p.m.
The prom theme, inspired by the beloved Disney movie The Princess and the Frog, was revealed in the quad March 28. ASB hired Disney performer Nadia Adidas to make a grand entrance in her Princess Tiana costume and sing “Almost There” from the Disney film.
Some of the activities planned for prom include an LED air hockey table, LED giant foosball game, twinkle photo wall, seating area with fire pits, and a cozy side area playing The Princess and the Frog.
For students who already have signed contracts, April 19 is the final day to get tickets for $120 with IFL and $125 without. Next week, April 22-24, tickets will be $130 with IFL and $135 without. To purchase a ticket, students must submit a signed prom contract to the office and obtain a signature from an administrator. Students will be able to pick up the signed contract from the office the next day, and they can then go to Room 65 to buy the ticket(s).
There are many contract rules that students must remember in order to avoid penalties such as suspension from other school events/senior activities. For example, students must be picked up within 30 minutes at the end of prom. Students also can opt to drive themselves to and from the venue.
The venue also has strict rules regarding what students can bring to the event. Prohibited items include alcohol/flasks, illegal substances, gum, all tobacco products, and perfume. Check the Prom Contract for more information. ASB also plans to have a bag check, so bringing a small purse/bag is an option.
Throughout the event, ASB students plan to take candid and group photos that will be uploaded to a Google Drive. Students will be able to access the shared Google Drive after prom and save their favorite images.
