Academy of the Arts presents Night Gallery

The Night Gallery opening was hosted Oct. 23 in the campus gallery, Room 201. The gallery featured digital photos, media, and canvas pieces from 210 students. The gallery show would not have been possible without the dedication of teachers Maggie Crail, Jason Hess and Gabby Kudron. Students will have until Nov. 1. to view the Night Gallery before it will be taken down. Look at some featured pieces in the gallery below:

Senior AP Photography student Alex Esparza submitted “Always in the Trenches" which is displayed on an 8x10 print. It took Esparza around 10 minutes to get the perfect closeup framing shot using a fast shutter speed and low ISO for his final image.

THE CONCERT CONNECTION
Senior Caleb Rocha took a day trip to Los Angeles to document the recent fires in the city for his portfolio. Rochas’s inspiration came from photo instructor Gabby Kudron. In her class, he has learned that photography is one of the most important assets to document history. When Rocha came across a burned flag on a house, he took extra care in making it a great photo. “I took probably around 20 or 30 photos of just the flag trying to get the best angle,” Rocha said. Female athletes create all-star level team
FUHS Advance Photo students will showcase their work at the Light and Color Art Show, hosted in the campus gallery Dec. 5 from 6-8 p.m. Above is one of the show’s pieces called “Ultramarine” submitted by senior Dusty Wheeler. While setting up their yard on Halloween, Dusty took this self portrait while sitting next to a fog machine. “The lighting alongside the fog complemented each other,” Dusty said. “My thought was to immerse myself in the obscured luminosity which produced my final photo that you see here.”
