Returning counselor Pat Hsieh

Returning counselor Pat Hsieh has worked at FUHS in several different roles from 1996-1999 and 2002-2007. She has also worked at other schools in Garden Grove, Orange and Alhambra as both a teacher and a counselor.

“I really liked working with the teen moms and thought I might like to have a job working with teenagers, so I applied for and was hired to be a Guidance Technician at FUHS,” Hsieh said. “I was able to see what counselors do and it turned out that I do love working with teenagers and working in a school environment, so I decided to go back to school to get my Master’s Degree and School Counseling Credential.”

Hsieh has worked as a counselor for thirteen years and has loved every minute of it.

“For me, the most rewarding aspect about being a counselor is being able to help students, both emotionally and academically. I love helping students to figure out ways to be more successful and connecting them with the resources they need to reach their future goals,” Hsieh said.

She loves working at FUHS and couldn’t imagine being anywhere else. “FUHS feels like home to me. There is so much history here, the staff is great, and I love the location and community,” Hsieh said.

Hsieh counsels students with the last names Ram-Z along with counselor Erin McCarthy and is available in the office on Mondays and Thursdays.
