The FUHS Indians (2-4) recently beat the Sunny Hills Lancers by a score of 7-3, accomplishing their first win in the Carousel tournament.

Senior Chris Allen scored five goals in the Indians’ triumph over the Lancers. “Personally, I feel like I took all the shots I needed to take,” Allen said. “And in order to repeat that I feel like I just need to be more confident in my shooting and make better placement for my shots.”

Senior goalie Sage Bertsch also contributed to Fullerton’s win as he shut down the Lancer’s offense and only held them to three goals.

“It was a big win for us,” Bertsch said.

Fullerton’s win put the Indians in a place to qualify for CIF and possibly win league. In order to make CIF, the team must win one of their final two games. To win league, the boys must win their next game against La Habra. By beating the Highlanders, the team will compete with Troy (6-0) to win the title.

Make sure to support the boys on the road today against La Habra at 6 p.m.

“We’re going into it excited, knowing how close we are to CIF and possibly winning league,” junior Jay Osborn said.
