Football looking for redemption against Troy

With a three-game winning streak in League, the FUHS football team looks forward to competing with rival Troy High (1-2) at tonight’s game. The boys will face the Warriors at 7 p.m. in the stadium on the visitors’ side.

With Troy being our rival school, we always strive to beat them and look for redemption from previous years.

Senior Kevin Campos wasn’t able to play in last year’s game due to an injury and is eager to participate this time around.

“We have been mainly watching a ton of film to see Troy’s style of play for us to prepare,” Campos said.

According to Campos, in order to beat the Warriors, we just need to come out swinging hard first.

Campos describes the team’s feeling about their three-game winning streak. “It’s pretty exciting. I think a lot of us were waiting for it and letting that time to come.”

Junior Noel Posey loves to put on a show for the crowd. “I expect [the students] to be loud as ever, to hype us up and keep us going,” Posey said. “We kind of feed off [the students].”

Leading to the final hours before the big game, the boys gather in the locker room to get ready. Senior Isaiah Vejar gives an inside look of how the team develops their mindset.

“We will probably do what we usually do like turn up in the locker room,” Vejar said.

Come see the Indians face off against the Warriors tonight, and remember to wear white!
