“My [karate] team and I traveled to Spain to compete in the World [Championships]. This was one of the best experiences of my life. I met so many amazing people and I hope to be able to do it again. The biggest lesson I’ve learned is leadership. When I first joined I would always see all the Senpai’s helping us out and leading warmups. I aspired to be like them, to help all the little kids. Now I teach a beginning/intermediate weapons class to younger students every week. This new experience in leadership has taught me to take new risks and expand my own knowledge of karate.”
