The FUHS Cross Country team competed in their first League meet on Sept. 26 at Clark Park. Following their defeat, runners are remaining optimistic on ways they can improve their performance.

Sophomore Cyrus Burton is looking to improve on his time enough to land him a spot on the Varsity team.

“I ran on JV,” Burton said. “I felt like it was a good level for me, but I would like to try and challenge myself on the varsity level.”

Freshman Hannah Torres ran on varsity and was fascinated by the speed and ability of other runners.

“It was interesting to see the different speeds of the other girls, because most of them are older than me,” Torres said.

The Cross Country team is looking to improve on their performance in order to compete with top teams in future meets.

Best of luck to the FUHS Cross Country team in all of their upcoming meets!
