As a member of the Dance Production team at FUHS, senior Tate Heinle recognizes DP as his tribe. Heinle first became involved in the dance program at school his freshman year in beginning dance. He then quickly improved before finally auditioning for Dance Production his junior year.

Heinle believes that the people who come into your life unexpectedly are the ones who most impact you and believes this is true as he unexpectedly found a passion and love for dance at Fullerton.

“It really happened by chance, I was supposed to be on the varsity soccer team, but my dad convinced me to try the arts instead. I ended up finding my place in the arts and Dance Production is where I found myself surrounded by insanely talented people who wanted to create and make an impact,” Heinle said.

Heinle views his fellow DP teammates as his family and greatly enjoys the time he spends with them doing activities ranging from choreographing dances to performing in the annual Fall Concert.

“DP is honestly a family. We care for one another and support each other like siblings. I know I can depend on them and that they’ll help with anything I need. I can count on them and I feel safe and loved. It’s a safe space and it’s a very enriching place to be,” Heinle said. “Tribe means home, and DP is my home.”

Being part of the Dance Production team at school has helped Tate not only meet people he views as family, but opened doors for him to share his passion for dance.

“Dance Production has given me a voice, wings to create, and room to inspire.”
