Baseball looks forward to their upcoming season

Fullerton baseball is heading into the 2019 season, looking to defend their Freeway League Title. The boys feel that this season will be a big shift for the team due to the loss of some starting seniors from the previous season.

Senior Izzy Orozco feels the team needs to adapt to their new lineup of hitters in order to be  as successful as last season.

“Last year we had a lot more power behind our bats and this year we don’t so we need to play a lot of small ball and work together,” Orozco said. “We don’t need to swing for the fences, we just need to play like we always do.”

Not only did the team win the league title, but they also made it to quarterfinals in CIF.

Senior Andrew Herrera is confident in his team for the upcoming season. “We are going to work harder than every other program and we are going to work together,” Herrera said. “The key to our success is that we work so well together.”

The boys have been working hard all off season and they are hoping for another successful season.

“We are all brothers and we play for each other and in order to be back to back league champs, we can’t let anyone take the bond that we have away from us,” Orozco said.

Come out to the baseball field and support the boys at 2 p.m. on Sat. Feb. 16!
