Boys Soccer finishes successful season
The FUHS Boys Soccer team had a great season this year. Winning League for the first time in five years, the team went on to play hard and advance into the second round of CIF.
Even in wake of their CIF loss, the team is happy about how their season was overall and how strong their team became.
“We won League, and went to CIF,” junior Aaron Zarate said. “Everyone played together as a team.”
Both his and junior Joseph Espinoza’s favorite moment from the season was accomplishing the league title.
“I scored the winning goal against Buena Park,” Espinoza said. “It was a wonderful feeling to win League.”
The team advanced two rounds into CIF, beating Savanna High School and playing hard against Bishop Mora Salesian High School. The team has high hopes for next year, wanting to go even further.
“I want to win next year, because it’s my last year,” Espinoza said. “Winning CIF would be an amazing experience.
For Zarate, going into a game prepared is the most important part of playing.
“For each game, we all have our game faces on,” Zarate said. “No one messes around. It’s serious. We pump each other up, because we’re out there to win.”
Congratulations to the FUHS Boys Soccer team for their outstanding season!
